Vistatec recognized for Excellent Results on European Commission Project
March 23, 2017
This week, Vistatec and its partners in the European Commission funded project “Framework of E Services for Multilingual and Semantic Enrichment of Digital Content” received formal feedback from the final review panel praising the project’s “excellent results with significant immediate impact”.
„We are delighted to get this type of recognition for innovation at a European level,“ said Phil Ritchie, Vistatec’s CTO and Head of R&D. „This project enabled us to bring our unique and innovative Deep Content service to market.“
Deep Content harnesses technology to automatically recognize and contextually comprehend content, and then enrich it with machine translation, terminology annotations, references to authoritative public and private information sources, facts and related data. Deep Content has already been recognized by industry analysts as one of four new technologies powering the new paradigm of the Augmented Translator.
Vistatec acted as a business case partner bringing use cases and user requirements to the consortium, and also lent its considerable expertise to contribute code to the e‑Internationalization service which powers the framework’s ability to process multiple file formats.
This marks a second outstanding success for Vistatec as a research partner in a European Commission funded project, the first project delivering a W3C recommendation and the open source editor, Ocelot. Phil concluded: „We will not be resting on our laurels. Our engagement in R&D projects both in Europe and at home – with research centers like ADAPT – have positioned us at the forefront of innovation and thought leadership. My team and I have many more ideas and visions to explore.“
