A Green Revolution in Display Technology Helping Children and Economies

With the world moving towards more environmentally friendly technologies, an Indian Photonic scientist — Pankaj Gohil — has invented a new display technology. The technology is called LPD (Laser Photonic Display) and represents a green revolution in the field of display technologies.
Gohil has secured two patents for this technology and is working on seven more. In LPD, a laser light source and a photonic display surface produce very high quality, crisp clear pictures (HD, 4K, 8K etc.) without any power or electronics connected to it.
The technology revolves around a nanophotonic particle which infuses life into any glass, making it interactive and vibrant. Thus a glass surface will feel your touch and possess the intelligence to connect, collaborate and communicate with you like any ordinary digital display, but without any electronics connected to it. “I am proud to put the best foot forward towards a green environment and a better world” — Pankaj Gohil.
With a mission to curb the ever-increasing problem of e-waste, Gohil has designed various categories of glass displays. They include 100% transparent glass that can be projected with images from either side, and be visible in full resolution on each side.
The display settings consume 70% less power and create 90% less pollution from surface heating and product weathering, leading to longer shelf life and less electronic waste. Being waterproof, scratchproof, shatterproof and dustproof they outmatch all the current LCD, LED and foil pasted glass display technologies in the market, with a life time guarantee.
The glass can be made in any size and shape, curved or flat, and have an extensive plethora of applications in fields for example:
Retail: Shop windows with digital displays to visualize the latest products and promotions.
Corporate: Touch enabled glass has many applications in presentations or corporate office displays.
Home & Living: Gohil was recently invited by the Chinese government to work on their Yiwu ‘smart city’ project. The displays can also be used for various entertainment purposes at home, such as interactive gaming rooms, cinema displays, digital touch canvases.
Aviation: With the newest advancement of thin (up to 1mm) and lightweight glass displays, Gohil was invited by SpaceX to demonstrate the product.
Outdoor Advertising: These glass displays are foil/ coating-free, waterproof and everlasting. It means that they can replace all the ‘static’ outdoor print mediums such as billboards, posters, with video or animation.
The displays can be used to show the same ads on both sides for extended reach of a single ad, or used to show two different ads, one on either side, to reduce the real estate required.
This technology designed at Panin Visual Technology in India is also helping developing countries deliver audio-visual classrooms to remote villages and telemedicine — stimulating overall economic growth. Panin has established three experience centers, two in Mumbai, India, and one in Minnesota, USA.
